Sound Design and Atmos Mix for NOPE at Universal Studios in Hollywood | Nuendo 13 Interview

Academy Award winner, Johnnie Burn of Wave Studios describes using Nuendo for creating and designing alien sounds for the Jordan Peele film NOPE, then heading to Universal Studios in Los Angeles where he created a complex mix for Dolby Atmos, all achieved through mixing in the box in Nuendo 13. This cinema assignment is all about using sound to tell the story and using sound to draw the camera eye. It highlights how Nuendo is the ideal platform for the entire sound design and whole mix process, no matter how big the project.

It would be very helpful if you were to do an absolute beginners series where you add in a video from scratch, do dialogue editing, sound design, as well as composing music...

Dolby Atmos setup in Nuendo 13 is so cumbersome that I prefer to use Studio One to get things done. Steinberg is stuck in the old stone age. They need to borrow some programmers from Presonus.
