In 2016 my family took a trip to one of the marae along the Whanganui River.
It was a very enlightening and emotional journey that enabled us to link with our ancestral connection to Whanganui, the river, the land and most of all, our relationship links with our whanau of Whanganui.

Way back during the two Maori Wars it was known as "Petre"..I remember Wanganui very well (I worked for awhile with Maxwell Smart (NO!..Not the Secret Agent lol, , ) at the Museum there...LONG TIME BACK THOUGH!
