This was done using live stream stream system so there’s a bit of lag and I’ve no idea why we get black screen for like 5 seconds near the end 😂

Tsar bomb only 1 was made, so showing its damage is a moot point.
Far better off high lighting what war heads Russian has on missiles currently.
Which is as off the last USA inspection was 150kt on subs which would mostly be 2nd strike on cities and an air blast to maximise damage but which will produce very limited fallout.
And 800kt war heads on silo based missiles which would be mostly aimed at usa silo fields and military hardened sites and ports and air bases across the world.
Vastly different damage from the tsar bomb to actually what they are capable of delivering

There is a bunker at Wawne but it’s just for council officials, the very people we don’t want. Phil.

Another excerpt from a pamphlet called Target North West - Civil Defence and Nuclear War, from 1982.... ""The sinister side (of Civil Defence) is the way in which the local availability of the basic means of life will be controlled from above as the only last ditch way, along with brute force, of keeping the system alive. This concentration on ruthless (or 'realistic') strategies such as refusing aid to stricken areas in order to build up obedient pockets of surviving labour elsewhere involves a complex, almost baroque organisation which stands little chance of survival. In every instance, it owes more to the demands of state control in a turbulent peacetime than to those of public survival in war."

The most releastic limited exchange scenario I think k you're biggest issue is going to be lawlessness medical supplies and the huge distrpution in food supplies, that be more gradual and slow but still deverstating.

Hey dude, just to let you know the potassium iodide pills you suggested are the wrong type as they are dosed in MCG / ug which 400mcg isn’t enough per tab as it equates to only 0.4mg and you need one 130mg tab or two 65mg tabs for an adult to saturate the thyroid so it can’t absorb any radioactive iodine, try to buy (Potassium Iodide KI) In either 65mg or 130mg tabs, I know Thyrosafe and iosat are two brands you can get but there are some others you can find. Also there’s information on dosage for kids of certain ages online. Just wanted to clear that up so you can be safe if it ever happens, god forbid.

Grandad knew. My grandad was prepared for this very situation and luckily he told us what to do when the time came. You place you feet wide apart but remain comfortable. You place you hands over your ears. Slowly but firmly bend over... and kiss your ar*e goodbye.

Annie Jacobsen said the nuclear bunker as a survival method is science fiction not science fact.
I ask why do we have to be at war and a nuclear exchange... it honestly seems an inevitable near future reality!

There's a public shelter in Padiham near Burnley, it's left over from WW2 and it's got a locked gate, we've given it to the Bats.
But it's still there.

More likely to be a nuclear EMP high in the atmosphere. Wipe out all electronics the rest will take care of itself

The Russians used the Tsar Bomba nuke once in a test, and have not built any more of them. In a nuclear war, they would be more likely to use 800kT (kiloton) weapons dropped in a cluster over a given target and detonated high in the sky to maximize the radius of destruction. Airbursts generally cause little to no fallout.

The big worry will be the fallout that will be generated by groundbursts using the same yield, or explosive power, to destroy military bases, airports and hardened underground government or military bunkers. Significant and large parts of the UK would be covered in lethal fallout. Unless you have access to a deep underground shelter or basement (easier said than done, particularly in rural areas), you will need to build an improvised fallout shelter in your refuge room to minimize, as much as possible, the dose of radiation you will receive. In some areas, the fallout may be so intense for the first seven hours after the attack that not even that will save you. The further away you are from any major target zone, the better.

The moderate blast zone is a bit misleading. Reading up about the actual effects of the Tzar Bomba, it says there was light blast damage on an island almost 500 miles away. Observers were flash blinded, received skin burns and were blown off their feet up to 70 miles away. Having briefly worked as a civil defence volunteer in the 80's, the belief was, based on data from the MOD, that there were up to 160 targets in the UK at the time, including both military and strategic targets. If the Soviets wanted to hit all them they would likely use weapons of around 150 - 180KT, and would probably allocate more than one warhead for each target in case some didn't detonate. Times have changed though, and most nuclear weapons, even strategic are lower yield than at the height of the cold war, because there is a renewed belief on both sides that such a war could be fought AND won. Back then the doctrine of MAD held a precarious peace for decades, but the philosophy has changed, and that makes the times we are living in more dangerous than at any time during the cold war. I live in the south east of England and I would say it's a given that that part of the country would be completed toasted in a nuclear war, with a bear minimum of 6 targets in and around London alone.

look at where the main Microsoft Azure Data Centre's are and other major data centre infrastructures for other providers like Google etc. they are now primary targets.

The ROC Posts have pretty much been ruined by visiting idiots, sadly, or filled in. The remaining number is very low. Most of the usable ones are privately owned.

Stupid question could they use the mersey tunnel i mean as a shelter because of it being below a river i dont know they could get the food from all the stores and shops in the city centre and transport it to the tunnels peoole could easily get to it by foot and they could erect some sort of shutter or seal to prevent nuclear dust ok ill shut up
