We're back!

I had the pleasure of reading the KonoSuba LNs last spring when the anime finished, and I've been up to date ever since. Kinda' bummed, since we're nearing the end of the series, but it's been a great ride.

It honestly surprised me to see a canon ship in a series like this. Not that I'm complaining. Aqua and everyone else are pretty cool though.

Expect one or two more songs from this series in the future. This cover's been done for like half a year, but I held off on releasing it because of Kimi no Na wa.

Anyway, you should definitely check out KonoSuba! Start with the anime (Episode 1 is weirdly hard to get through because of the pacing, but the next 21 eps are fantastic) and you can go off the books from there. Recommend reading over the parts you watched too; there's some fun stuff you might've missed.

I just realized the song applies very well to all four protagonists. Kazuma was forced to leave his home by his untimely death, Aqua´s main goal is to return to her home, Megumin still misses the Crimson demon village, but she refuses to return until she becomes famous, and Lalatina (hehe) left her home to satisfy her desire for adventure (and punishment, mostly punishment) despite her home being objectively a better place to live in.

I'm a student at Southern Oregon University, and I'm on my own for the first time...ever, really. Especially with the Covid-19, I've never felt further away from my parents, and this song made me realize that.

When I listened to it the first time, I merely enjoyed the music, as well as the voice behind it (Akane Sasu Sora's got some serious pipes). Beyond that, I didn't think too much about it, until I pulled it up a day or two later (today). This time, I actually really listened to the lyrics, about the smell of homecooked meals and the familiarity of home. For some reason, the phrase "I wanna go home" hit me harder this time, but I ignored it. Maybe I was just hungry or something. But as the song went on, I started thinking about the dinners my dad would cook. I started thinking about sitting down in the evening to watch Bob's Burgers with my mom. I thought about playing MTG with my dad, and running up the stairs to see the new Marvel movie trailer he had pulled up on youtube. Before I knew it, it was all I could think about, ingrained memories of my hometown and my family intermingled with the sound of the acoustic guitar.

Before long, I realized I suddenly couldn't see, and that was because I was crying. I was crying because I desperetly wanna go home. I wanna go home, and hug my parents. I wanna eat my dad's dinners, and watch tv with my mom. I wanna sit around in the living room all day, talking about nothing with them.

I wanna go home.

Right after I post this, I'm going to get on the horn with my dad, and see to buying a plane ticket for this coming weekend. This song made me realize how badly I need to see them. This song made me realize I need to be a kid one more time, just for a weekend. And that's exactly what I'm going to do.
