In this video I will show you the steps that I took to correct the paint on a 2017 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor. This paint is very finicky and has really thin clear coat to begin with. It was a lot of work and didn't turn out perfect but it made a big turnaround.

Yea brother, I did a White Tesla recently & the paint was definitely different. Was careful & it complied alright. Glad you had the opportunity to do one! :-)

A friend of mine has a new Tesla which he bought in early 2019 and yes bad paint they have. Also, the screen is kind of hard to learn about but the car is very comfortable. Not many charging stations here but works for him since he doesn't travel far since he has the beach very close to him and his family lives less than 30 minutes from his home.
Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

I literally went through the same detail last night but with a 2019 mazda. Paint readings of 2.7 and 2.9 total hours in were just over 6.That was definitely finicky paint. Overall fantastic turnaround on the Tesla Brian.

Hey Brain, if I can give you an FYI. Soft paint is a pain of course. What I've found to work 95% of the time switch your polisher to a 12mm instead of the 15, or 21mm. The huge throw of bigger ones puts to much stress on the clear. You might want to try the Rupes Yellow Wool pad with your Polish, then switch over to your polishing pad for the finish work. This method on soft paint works 95% of time. Plus, the thin paint was working against you. And you still did a phenomenal job. 👍👍 two thumbs up my friend.

Just finished a black 2019 modelel 3 and jumped online to see if there were any vids about black tesla paint and its issues.im glad im not the only one that found it difficukt and finicky.
I ended uo using a yellow LC cutting oad oaired with Negs Ultimate compound followed by megs yktumate polish abd an orange LC pad. I found that the slower speeds corrected equally as fast and left almost no haze .
Whike the CC was thinner than most, it gad very little orange peel.
Oversll it came out good and the custoner was haopy.
Gtmreat job and thanks for sharing the video.

Great job Brian👍 Those cars with the soft finicky clear are the worst😒😠 My S2000 also has soft clear & black as well & it took me what seems a lifetime to get it acceptable. The owner before me must have used it to race because the paint & the windshield are pitted real bad☹ When I first looked at it & I opened the hood I noticed that it had a wet N₂O setup. You know with N₂O hooked up you must be racing a little🤏 Enjoy the rest of your weekend FAB✌🏼✌🏼

Great video Brian with wonderful explanations of what you were doing and why. Just add this to the collections of reasons I will not own a paint. LOL....

Brian, Recently I corrected a red Hyundai Sante Fe with many deep scratches & door dings with 3D One (One Coat) & uro fiber pad. I finished with Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution Polish/ Wax (One Coat) with Lake Country Orange Pad. I first lightly sanded with 3000 grit sandpaper. I removed most of the defects. It was my first time using uro fiber pad & 3D One, from Brian (Apex Detail) recommendation, and worked really well. I was impressed!

At the end of your wash process use Chem-x asphalt and tar remover to get rid of all that junk on the paint. Works better than any tar remover on the market. Use lightly and let sit for a minute then wipe of. No more dirty clay

Awesome to see your combos and attack methods on correcting the paint. 5 years of experience at a body shop and I can tell you the left side doors that the deep splotches were over spray from a bad masking job on painting that quarter panel. Love the channel

Nice job! Isn't there a new Hybrid Solutions product that fills in defects a little on the black paint to cover all them dots in the hood? I know that the old Turtle Wax Black Box would hide them some. Funny, I didn't buy any of the new Hybrid Solutions black items, thinking that I wouldn't get any black paint detailing jobs this year. Turns out that most of the jobs that I did this year were black vehicles. Corrected black vehicles sure are satisfying to look at when they are completed.
