Wish my dentist used digital. I started gagging my dentist still had hands on the mold. Sat me up and kept telling me breathe through my nose. She kept tapping my nose a bit to remind me through the slight panic attack. She was an awesome dentist

Bentist you say “back in my day” while I am here seeing them still do the impressions with that retainer mold stuff and had to go through it all the time for retainer replacements 😭

My orthodontist office still does impressions and when I got mine I gagged so much! Luckily I didn’t throw up!!

I threw up once when I was like 13 after having 3 teeth pulled (they were baby teeth that needed help getting out). I had and still do a bit have bad dental anxiety and after the procedure was done, I was so hyped up on adrenaline that I got nauseous and threw up. I felt so bad and kept apologizing and asked the hygienist to let me clean it up but she was like "No sweetie, it's okay, don't worry". I loved that dental office, everyone was so nice 😭

OH NOOO THATS MY WORST NIGHTMARE!!! My dentist still has to use the impressions and my ortho knows me personally and she told me that if i threw up on her she would smack me HAHAHAH

At the dentist I go to, they did the goopy impressions and X-rays, but for the impression when the were trying to do it, the shoved an impression mould in that was way too big for my mouth, so I was in so much pain, and then the yanked it out and it felt like my teeth were being pulled out

I once started crying when taking an impression and asked to stop because the guys glove was pulling my lip, felt like it was being pulled apart ;-; he kinda just waved me off

One time my dentist put way too much in the tray and she nearly blocked my entire airway. It was so much she took a partial of my uvula too. I was gaging like crazy from it and all we could do is wait for it to harden enough to pull out so she could try again 5 minutes after I calmed my stomach down with water and wiped my eyes. She sat me up quick so it could stop flowing to the back. She said whoops sorry lol

When I got my braces, they made me do impressions as well. But my mom actually warned me and I did a little bit of research. I ate all the foods that would help lessen the chances of gagging. But I was still not prepared. I made sure to let the assistant know that I might be likely to gag since I am a very picky eater and can gag rather easily. She told me that she'll put less mold in the trey so that the imrression dries up quicker. Therefore, it would be likely help with my gag reflexes. She sure did help; I was perfectly fine through the whole thing. I really appreciate that she did that for me. You never know what a dentist will do for you, just let them know what makes you feel uncomfortable :)
