The Philosopher's Path or Tetsugaku-no-Michi is a walking path along the canal that goes roughly between Nanzenji and Ginkakuji temples in eastern Kyoto. Organized in late XIX century and favoured by students and professors of Kyoto Univesity it is now most famous for its sakura bloom. In autumn the path has fewer people and going there it's a great opportunity to enjoy peace and quiet in the city along with the autumn foliage.

Filmed in December 2022.

Directions: despite the fact that the video I walk the path from south to north, approaching it from northern side can be easier. You just have to ride the city bus from whichever starting point you have in Kyoto to the Ginkakuji bus station, where handful of bus routes have a stop. The nearest train station is Keihan Demachiyanagi which is about 20-25 minutes by foot.
