Sync My Music Main Site:

Should you submit music to production music libraries or pitch music directly to tv & film clients. Both have their pros & cons, but I prefer to work with sync companies because they're able to open up many placement opportunities for tv. If you're looking for consistent income with sync licensing, you might find my argument is fairly strong to work with the best sync companies out there.

Thank you very much, Sir! I am unfortunately unable to purchase your courses but I am still learning a ton from you and am very appreciative of your willingness to share. You are right, this is a grind just to even break into the field, especially with no mentor to teach you the ways. I just got into my first library, and I have to say it would have taken way longer if I had not found your channel. Thanks again Jesse, you da man!

Helpful video thank you. The biggest challenge ive been having as a producer with 250+ pieces of music in my catalog (80% instrumental) is that ALL of this music is registered with my admin publisher (Songtrust) AND ContentID (Identifyy) AND released on all streaming platforms (Spotify, iTunes, etc) and its become a challenge for me to find libraries that will allow me to leverage this music for sync placements.

Do you know of any libraries or licensing processes where this would not be a conflict? This video is making me think going direct might make more sense for me so sync doesn’t conflict with my other income streams

SERIOUSLY appreciating this information, Sir Jesse! It’s encouraging to see that there are different “avenues” we can take to get going w/sync licensing. Thank you kindly, bless up. 👊🏽🙏🏽

I received a contract that says in a section "It is understood by the Composer that when the
Publisher issues such a Direct License to a client, the Composer’s performing rights, mechanical rights and neighboring
rights connected to the works are exempt from any royalty collection by the Societies and that the Composer will keep the
Publisher harmless of any claims by the Societies linked to the direct licenses." Why would some one agree to this? Unless I am misunderstanding someething.

Great info was just thinking this while binge watching some of your other videos. Was just wondering as far as hip hop libraries, is there a directory with solid hip hop specific libraries too as well because it’s seems like it’s a little harder for that genre in my experience. Great content keep it coming!

When you give ownership of your music to the library, would that be for an agreed amount of time (like 4 years)? or permanent? If it's for a duration of time, what's a common amount of time the libraries ask for?

Jesse or anyone else with the knowledge: If a song is published/registered with a service like Sentric Music, can it still be pitched to a library for exclusive licensing? I'm just a bit confused about music "publishers" and designated collectors of sorts, and how this relates to libraries.
