As far as who asked for it, this is what Tim Burton wanted to do and he was mostly left alone by the studio to do it. Him and Keaton wanted to and had a blast making it. So, they are the ones who asked for it.

All my friends wanted to see the movie, yet, they forgot it was gonna be released this week. That's how much they wanted to watch it. Hahaha.

So, yeah, I'm gonna keep collecting old DVDs of good movies, before I spend money in new re-heated sequels they try to release from Hollywood.

Hail Knights Watch! :D

the problem is they've stopped subverting our expectations... it used to be all the big rage... my expectations are movies are going to be bad now... I'm waiting for a movie that subverts my expectations again.

The movie is great and it deserves to do well at the box office.

"who asked for this?" well judging by its opening weekend box office numbers, a lot of people apparently

I'll have to hear some other reviewers talk about it before I make up my mind.., or watch it myself somewhere at some point, but it does feel about 2 decades too late for a sequel to a film with a pretty definitive end to it's story.

Also it would make more sense to make a spinoff about Beetlejuice in the afterlife, or harassing some new people, instead of going back to the same old family again. If they had any brains none of them would have anything to do with him after the events of the first film.., and they'd have 2 friendly ghosts to help them out with anything supernatural as they pretty much adopted Winona's character at the end of the first film...

Should have just made "Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian" like they originally planned 😂

I agree... Hollyweird cannot think of an original creative thought.

I saw the movie and found it to be rather funny. I won't lie, it does have problems as outlined in this video, but over all I guess my expectations were so low that I enjoyed what was there for what it was.

At the end, I felt sorry for Betelguese. He put in all the work and held up his end of the deal by saving her daughter from the afterlife. The marriage being called off due to a technicality felt cheap. She could, at least let him take her out on a date, as a thank you for saving her from her own chose to marry a corrupt fiancé

Okay, the Soul Train joke is 100% on par with the 1st movie's level of comedy. Though in the first movie, the main character and or Beetlejuice would start dancing too.

I’m disappointed that it wasn’t funny at least. I wouldn’t mind a bad plot if the movie was enjoyable (see Deadpool and Wolverine) and funny

I would be more annoyed if the "soul train" didn't have jazz music.

Gotta say I disagree for once. The first act is slow and meandering but it improves sharply after that. Sets, costumes, and characters were good and we got more Beetlejuice. Solid 7.5 or more

The film had a lot of problems, but I feel like it would've been way better without jenna ortega in it. She took up too much time in a film where anyone watching it probably just wants to see the old cast again, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton etc. If she wasn't in it we wouldn't have had her dumb plot take over the film, meaning we could have focused more on Ryder and gotten more of Keaton as a result, which is what any real Beetlejuice fan really wants anyway.

Another remake because evil can't make anything new, it can only copy and corrupt, I don't care if the movie is as good as the original, or even better, probably not, I refuse to watch any remakes, enough is enough.

My Wife wanted us to go see it last weekend, but we stayed home instead. Now I'm glad I didn't waste money.

Still excited to see it. Looks like a good throwback to old Burton films. But don’t expect much from it honestly.

Rewatching the original, it’s more like a goof on Hellraiser, with the family moving into a house and having a pervert spook trying to get their daughter. Anyone else notice that?

Just came back from seeing it and yer, it`s not great, the first 40 min are quite dull and doesn`t really pick up much from there. very much like Ghostbuster frozen empire, throw scenes at the screen, see what sticks. It`s very reminiscent of one of those streaming movies, bit like Hocas Pocus 2, all the players are here but somethings off. A real shame.
