Alec Lightwood - Never Good Enough

Finally I've made a video! :D
I decided to make this one about Alec. I've always liked his character. He's far from perfect and he made sooo many stupid decisions, but he's changed so much since season 1. Making this video (although I didn't remember a lot of scenes from last seasons) was a pure pleasure.

He was so rigid and closed off at the start. Feeling he had no choice but follow orders, trying desperately to prove himself to his parents. But as he fell in love with Magnus he started to realise that he had to let go of those tight restraints and follow his own path and feelings. He grew and matured and stopped trying to be the 'perfect Shadowhunter' his parents were trying to force him to be and just be the man he truly was inside.

Really Magnus and his love for him made him accept everything he was. Made him realise his feelings and wants weren't wrong and just bring himself made him "good enough".

His character growth over the seasons was amazing. From someone who though emotions were just obstacles, something to push down and ignore to a man who became so open in showing his love and feelings for Magnus, no matter who saw or what they thought was just beautiful.

Well done Matt and Harry for your outstanding performances as Alec and Magnus. Best TV couplr EVER

Alec lived in Jaces shadow for years. Alecs own parents loved Jace more than Alec and he had to live knowing that. He watched everyone talk about the famous Jace Lightwood. Watching him learn to love himself made my heart melt...

One thing I love about Alec is that he tries so hard, he cares & learns & grows..in the face of a family & culture that isn't the most supportive they could be, too. Making mistakes isn't a bad thing in itself -all people do. It's why, & it's what you do about them that matters more.
