I had one of those "Why didn't I think of that" moments after watching this. It's really awesome and a great alternative to vaseline and cotton balls. Easier to light and longer burn time.

I have been trying your method. It works great. The cotton ball burned a lot longer than I expected it to. That will be great in a survival situation. It also shows me the flammability of just plain old rubbing alcohol. Here's my problem: I live for the winter here in south florida. I live in a condominium complex of 4 buildings with 250 apartments. I am on the third floor. Been here 14 years. They do not allow motor scooters. I am buying a Vespa 150 cc. gasoline engine. Completely closed fuel delivery system. I checked with Palm Beach Fire and Rescue and they said I could keep legally up to 10 gallons of fuel in my unit. The docs and bylaws here say no motorcycle or scooter may be kept on the "premise" overnight. The inside of my unit is not their's. I own from the doorway in. I need to convince the board that many household items are flammable, including rubbing alcohol, powdered coffee creamer, bottles of booze and hand sanitizers. They have fought me at every turn since I went over their heads to allow me to have my cat 10 years ago. The scooter is arriving this week. I am a tenacious bastard and an old Marine. At 72 I don't want a battle, but I'm not dead yet and want a little scooter. Thanks again Ky. fred

I need to pick up a ferro rod and try this method. Wonder how it would do if you soaked them in the alcohol and then applied the vaseline? I would think the vaseline would help to keep the alcohol from evaporating.

Nice. I like to throw alcohol soaked cotton balls lit on fire 🔥 in the snow in the winter. They look cool 😎 for a few minutes.

Is the seal on a pill bottle air-tight? Or do I have to look for a certain one?
