Synonymous with the name Guy Fawkes, it was an attempt by radical Catholics to assassinate King James I and to destroy parliament in one devastating explosion. But who was the real mastermind behind the plot, and what caused the conspirators to turn to such extreme measures?

In a world of religious turmoil, was Guy Fawkes an anti-hero, or a villain? And who wrote the letter that still remains one of the biggest mysteries in English history?

We don’t have Guy Fawkes Day in the United States, but I’m fascinated by this documentary, being a history buff.

Before the execution could be carried out, Fawkes jumped from the ladder to the platform on which the gallows stood and broke his neck. As a result, he died before he was hanged.

This whilst a great video and story, is sadly guilty of a lot of invention in telling a story wove around the verifiable facts. It could all be true I'll give it that, but so much is plain supposition designed to support a narrative that Robert Cecil effectively engineered things from the shadows.

Its a fun video but documentary is not accurate, based upon a true story is closer.
