If you ask me, we need a completely separate Department of Immigration and Naturalization. Immigration being under Homeland Security is a tremendous mismatch. It's literally put under Defense and policing, but it doesn't belong there.

As a nation of immigrants and their descendants, this is an important tradition of the United States, but the current context denies that tradition.

This may be premature optimism, but the epic failure by DJT in selecting Gaetz "may" be an important "Canary in the Coal Mine" in terms of his subsequent nominees. Gaetz was the fastest ejection from a Cabinet nominating process in history and clearly indicates that, contrary to DJT's delusion, the GOP Trifecta from 11/5 does NOT mean he has unlimited power to abuse the authority of Presidency. This sends an important message, and it inherently causes more intense scrutiny of other nominees. This may cascade into the rejection of multiple nominees, as most have significant character flaws in addition to blind loyalty and general incompetence. The show is just starting, and as expected, epic drama and chaos will only intensify. And keep in mind, narcissistic psychopaths rarely tolerate "defeat" well.

I agree with Schiff: dismissing Trump's court convictions would be akin to *giving the middle finger* [🖕🏾] to all the jurors who *took time out of their daily activities* to sit in court for long hours, examine the evidence, listen to arguments from all sides, and render the appropriate verdict. It implies the trial was a drainage of time _and_ taxpayer money!
