I have a tip! Flip the measuring tape when deciding the length of the dress. The number will show right by your chest and it will be able to hang free, giving you a clear idea of where it will hit! :)

I have a little tip for you, when sewing the side seams open up the facing and sew down the facing first, continuing onto the side seam. then flip the facing down. Super clean finish on under arm. Love the style, well done .

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I’m thinking of making two sets of straps that will tie at the center so that the straps can be adjustable.

I am new to sewing and found this tutorial super easy to follow! So happy with how the dress has turned out. Definitely some room for improvement on my end, but for my first time making an item of clothing I couldn't be happier. Can't wait to wear it out and tell everyone I made it myself! Looking forward to following along with more tutorials from the Essentials Club!

I made this! It turned out great! The only problem was I sewed it a couple years ago when I was really depressed and not eating properly so now that I’m at a healthier weight, it’s a bit too tight haha but still! I came back to this vid because I wanted to make another one, it’s so fun and comfy :))

I made the dress!! It’s super pretty and I’m sooo happy about it. Thank you so much for the tutorial, it was very easy to follow even for a beginner! For my fellow beginners: absolutely try this tutorial out! It only took me two evenings to make it, so I think this could easily be made in one day. Also, using a patterned fabric is very forgiving if you don’t sew very straight lines, because the thread is less noticeable.

This is amazing! I’m in the middle of this project, and just a little something to keep in mind. I wanted a rather wide neck cut, which looks great, but the straps are slipping off my shoulder a bit.
It is still wearable, just something to consider. I’m sure I’m going to make it again, with a bit more narrow spacing of the straps.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, this is my first dress and I love it so far! :)
