Pele was really an amazing person. He made way for all the football greats today. He will be greatly missed by the entire football community and globe.

Today my day told me a story while watching the news on Pele’s passing. He told me he once had the honor of meeting Pele himself at a restaurant in NYC while he was working there, he said Pele gave every restaurant staff an autograph including my dad with his name and a special message to him, he even got to talk to him and joke a bit with him, and one of his coworkers even asked him for money.

My dad hung that autograph with pride on his wall when he was young, now that autograph is somewhere hidden in a box at home. I never knew my dad meet him at all he never talked about it until today 25 years later. What a nice story somehow makes me feel connected with Pele in a way.

Born in 57 🇨🇦 - never played much soccer but always heard about PELE. Not just outstanding footballer but was known for being outstanding person. PELE & Muhammad Ali are members of a very special group of athletes that did far more for the world than any politician.
