Unfortunately for ProChara, he saw a hint of this future potential and jumped on the S-Blast hype train too early, before even the second kit came out.

1:08 we saw its kit and the entire community agreed that they did not cook and instead burned the meal so hard it took almost a year to get the new ingredients

The changes to booya bomb are one of the biggest reasons people even started picking up the weapon in a meta where decav shined, and that's where the weapon started to see lots of usage and results. Faster booya charge increased survivability of the special which is exactly what s-blast wants and helped counter one of the most meta and oppressive specials for the weapon, bubble. Booya bomb was ironically the weak point in the kit before this, being a very mid tier special that was entirely outclassed by strikes in both paint and object damage with less survivability than stuff like bubble or kraken that vblast and crb had (though it isn't a fair comparison, it just shows how booya bomb didn't have a reason to be used at the time). Forge pro saw results in king's cup and elsewhere because of main weapon and booya bomb buffs, similar to s-blast.

S Blast is one of my favorite weapons, I love to see it get some attention! Makes me want to play it more ❤

I think once it comes down to it, I think S-Blast can teach us a very important lesson.

You can be a weapon with an amazing main weapon, an amazing kit, and get perfect buffs, and you can still be screwed over by what you can't do, as opposed to what you can. And that's okay, because things can always change, whether in an instant or over time. What is needed for success changes as people find new routes to succeeding. That's why exploring the tools of a meta is important. We've seen this with Pencil, we've seen it with Edit and S-Blast is no exception.

And some weapons are obviously going to remain doomed, unfortunately, be it by unfortunate kit luck, weaker main weapon power or still suffering from extreme nerfs from a certain previous game, and sometimes no amount of buffs or changing metas can save them. But a lot of weapons were once in that spot too in S2 or S1. So no matter how long it takes, there's always a path to redemption.

But do we want S blast to be good? I still remember how annoying sqeezer used to be so when I hear that S blast is getting better, I sense flashbacks. Besides, I still don't fully understand what comps S blast would need to be good.
