People have been begging for this for years and it would make perfect sense. This would fix one of the game's biggest flaws.
That's exactly why it will never change. Football will always be a ridiculously flawed game. Logic doesn't fly in the NFL and that's partly why I love it so much.

How about the non roughing the passer call in the Kansas City/New England game?

blown calls is a part of life....it happens in sports and in life....nothing is perfect....sometimes the wrong guy goes to jail. sometimes the guilty guy walks free....

There were a couple of facemasks that weren't called on the Saints. Also a delay of game was missed. Numerous holds by linemen.

Your 100% right, reviews and give the other team a chance, hopefully it gets done

One thing I think needs more attention is OT rules in playoff games. In games of this importance where it's best of one, win or go home, a coin flip and a march down the field without a chance to match is not a good representation of a win. It's keepaway. Make playoff OT rules like CFB OT rules. 3OT? Fine. Better than not giving the other team a chance to tie/win.

Edit: Glad Rich touched on this later on.

Yes, let's make everything "reviewable" because that will stop controversial calls. This is despite the fact that in every single sport where video replay technology has been introduced (whether it be NFL, soccer, rugby (both varieties) etc.) we have seen not just errors - but decisions so egregious it is impossible to believe they are legit. Moreover, with high-speed cameras the action is slowed to such a degree and definition an entirely new realm of reality is opened up making it possible to call fouls (or not) in myriad previously unimaginable ways. And *who* are the people making these calls? In the World Cup the raw video feed was piped outside of the stadium all the way to FIFA headquarters - otherwise known as One Of The Most Corrupt Organisations In Existence. I'm not saying games are being fixed but ... if Nike is currently offering several billions dollars worth of sponsorship certain officials eyesight might suddenly become ... faulty ...

Rich is right everyone on all the teams should get a super bowl ring. Its not fair

At the very least add a special rule set for post-season games, not a coaches challenge but let the booth decide. Especially with less than 2 minutes to go and the game is tied. There's just no reason that a game such as this with a Super Bowl berth at stake should be decided by a missed call.

My opinion on how the NFL can stop blowing so many calls:
Add another official, who will be located in front of replay monitors. He'll have the same authority as all the other officials, and will give his input just like they currently only do on field. He'll have the ability to "throw a flag" when he sees something.
The head Referee will still have the final authority on all decisions. Coaches will have unlimited access to challenge any call or non call. If a coach's challenge is unsuccessful they will be assigned a delay of game penalty, which will be enforced at the discretion of the opposing coach. (Maybe he waits to enforce it on 3rd & 1)

They also should have been able to review the roughing the passer call on Chris Jones in the KC-NE game. It was obvious from the replay that he hit Brady on the shoulder pad. The call obviously didn't have the immediate foreseeable impact as the Saints one, but it was just as blatantly wrong.

The refs missed several crucial calls, it started early when Josh Hill was hit in the helmet, clear as daylight but there was no call. For those that will incorrectly conclude that missed calls are part of the ebb and flow of the game, this one missed call was simply egregious as it actually did change the outcome of the game. There is no other outcome if that play is called correctly. The wrong team ended up in the SB and potentially robbed a legend of the game from competing for another SB. Every sport (soccer, tennis, cricket, etc) has improved on their video replay protocols after inception, but the NFL refuses to do so. Every play should be reviewable and coaches should get more challenges. I believe 3 out of the 7 officials on the field are responsible for PI calls and obviously that isn't working, maybe they should consider adding an additional judge so that they can bracket the field on all 4 sides.

I'm down with coaches able to challenge any play esp in under 2 min.

That was a great defensive play. (Said the Refs)

I'm shocked NY didn't call down to the field the moment it happened.. Maybe they called Roger but he was like "we'll let this play out"

i think we should take the replays out of the game and call it like we see it....

Make everything reviewable lol! Ok the PI never happens because the facemask gets called at 6 16 and the Rams lead 24-20 into a new final 6 minutes.

Bad refereeing has been a theme for this year. And now the NFL has to deal with it.

Is it unreasonable to suspect potential cheating?

I think what we saw this weekend was a result of the officials letting the players play. Problem is... they missed ACTUAL penalties that should be called in any situation (facemask against NO, DPI against LA).

Then, for whatever reason, they decided to start penalizing players in the KC v. NE game after letting them “play” for the majority of the game. You cannot do that. If you’re going to flag someone for something, then you do so every time they do it. Set the tone, teach them what they can and can’t do early. Not after they’ve been allowed to play like that the whole game.

And don’t get me wrong, the refs didn’t make all-bad calls in the KC game. Offsides was the right call. DPI against JC Jackson was the right call. Roughing the passer?... give me a break. There was DPI on the same play, and that would have been the easier penalty. But roughing the passer? More like TOUCHING the passer. I mean, geeze, that was awful.

By far two of the most entertaining games I’ve seen, especially at the Conference Championship level. Even with the bad calls. But refs gotta call it right, as best as they can, especially when the calls are that obvious.

He's wrong. The neutral zone infraction wasn't in overtime.
