Butter Beans (Lima Beans) - Growing in the UK
Butterbean
Lima Beans - Super nice and creamy Lima Beans also known as Butter Beans, growing right here in my backyard in the UK.
Super nutritious beans, it is full of Protein, Iron, Magnesium, Copper, Vitamin B6 etc

One of my favourite Jamaican Butter Recipe
Boil Saltfish (salted cod) until your desire amount of salt is left
Add oil (about a tablespoon) to saucepan
Add Onion and Garlic and sweat off
Then add Sweet Peppers, Thyme and Spring Onions
Add Paprika
Add Tumeric
A pinch of Cayenne
Then add chopped Tomatoes
May not need to add salt as Cod is normally still salty
Then break boiled Cod into small pieces and add
Cover and steam down for ten minutes (can add two tablespoons of water)
All Done.
Enjoy

Do you plant in pots or directly in the ground?

Everything you grow is new to me. I mostly do perennial flowers. 🤮 you’re like my vegetable sensei.

Is fresh pod edible? I heard other videos says pod is not edible and only eat dry beans.

Beans are growing well. Gardening book says they're not suitable to grow in Britain. Suggest you do an article for Kitchen Garden magazine, maybe throw in a recipe? I can't wait to try. If I boil from fresh, how many minutes?

I presume
you save and store some beans. Any tips as some of mine have developed a mould or gone brown. Help?

Hello my new friend, I'm really enjoying your videos. I only discovered gardening 2 months ago and I'm absolutely loving it. I have around 20 different plants on the go ready to plant outside, in a few weeks 😊. Quick question, have you ever tried growing Borletti Beans. It's a beans I remember hem from my youth, my grandma would cook pea soup or pigtails and I'm sure these are the beans she would add in the dish. So yummy and tasty. I've asked a few people my siblings too but noone seems remember. I remember the cranberry coloured speckled bean and shelling them garden ready for cooking. Everyone I ask tells me their Kidney beans but they definitely were not. Any advice would be appreciated. Keep up the hood work. P.S I loved your corn video too 😊
