Polaroid SX-70 sonar - auto focus problem

I know it's a year later but I have read elsewhere that a person with the same problem as you found a blue wire inside that had broke so power wasn't going to the reverse contact on the motor. may be worth a try if you are comfortable disassembling the sonar and soldering.

Same here and mind just stopped working 🙃
