As a floor manager at a casino for over a decade we do in fact know people are superstitious and poor at math/statistics and use that in our favor.

I heard a professor of mathematics interviewwed on the radio once. She said that you have a better chance of winning millions in the lotto if you used numbers like 1234567. She said the numbers are all selected at random so every number has an equal chance of coming up. The chance of winning is still very remote, but if you win there's a really good chance you'll be the only one with those numbers, so you wont have to share the winnings with any other ticket holders.

You know, the fact that if you roll the dice for enough times, you will get every number 1/6 of the time. So (after rolling a bunch of times) the chance of a specific number not coming up is lower than it coming up as much as others. So after a number doesn't come up for a while, it will come up in the future if you throw it multiple times. But for a single time, the chance is still 1/6.

It trips me out to think that it’s extremely low odds to roll 1000 rolls without a 7 showing up at all, but that doesn’t increase the odds of the next roll being a 7.

Fairest game in a casino is poker. You play against other guests, not the house. They take their little cut, of course, but it's your best chance of leaving the place ahead. Of course...you have to know how to play poker.

Here is how to win at roulette. Stick with red or black, triple your bet every time you loose and every time you win, start over at casino minimum.

Here's a better way of looking at it. Each time you play roulette there is a 36/37 chance of it NOT landing on a given number. After 25 rounds the probability of not rolling a given number 25 times in a row is (36/37)^25 = 50.4%.

So if you play the same number 25 rounds in a row you are STILL more likely to have won 0 times than 1 or more.

Additonally you would have to play 51 straight rounds at the same number to have a 75% chance of winning and 85 straight rounds for a 90% chance of winning.

Its why I only play craps; best house edge and you can throw the dice so its not completely random. Quite literally, i know when my throw is bad or good when it leaves my fingers. Never worried about the good throws, the bad ones are lucky if they don't 7out.

I’ll say this, if I face the dice up and roll the dice many times, I’ll start to have muscle memory on a particular way to toss it for a desired result. Only works if you have the freedom to do this
