Batching 10 minis for Horus heresy is easy and fun. Oil washes and Tamya over metal with metal chipping with a sponge. You will get great looking army in no time.

No intro, straight into facts and tips - epic video, Zumikito!

Another trick is to just use the same paint you got on the pallete for details.
If you got 3-4 different colours, you can just mix those for detail bits that aren't important.

Starts with the tips from the very first second. Love it. Straight to the point.

Holy crap. Dry-brushing a neutral gradient before just adding in colors from contrast paints is one of the most ridiculously brilliant things I've seen. It's honestly a straight-up lifehack for those pressed for time. Like me. T_T

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've literally never planned a painting scheme ahead of time, I just make it up as I go. Why have I never thought of this!? 😭. That alone was life changing advice for me.

Great video Zumikito! Straight to the point, concise, clean 👌

The advice on simplifying the color scheme was game-changing. I painted a small squad of Dark Reapers a long time ago and I used a lot of colors. I painted another squad last year using half the colors, got a better-looking result, and it took less time to finish, even with paying more attention to smooth transitions. Your videos have been extremely helpful!

Marvelous video! Other great tip is to have like a "Life diary" of the hobby. To check your recepies, steps to do a specific type of material and of course, track your progress and mistakes. It's always useful!

Totally missed out on putting "Slapchop" in the title and thumbnail for those sweet, sweet clicks. ;)
Great tips and everything to the point, not even an intro to skip. Thank you!

The timing on this video is erie - I just decided to strip all my Iron Hands space marines and re-paint them as Ultramarines! I'll definitely be utilizing the black oil wash tip for recess shading since I didn't really have to worry about that before :)

At the 4:00 you mention oil wash and not having a faster method to do that. Tamiya Panel Liner is a classic tool in the Gunpla World and it comes with a super convenient brush. I'll be trying it on some painted minis soon, but it should work just fine on a coated mini.

My suggestions for speedpainting projects:
1.) Give yourself a solid deadline. Whether this is an upcoming tournament, or just the end of a week you took off work to paint, having a deadline helps with the motivation.
2.) Treat it like a job. I generally take time off my real job to do my speedpaints, because I want to be able to sit down for 4-5 hours a day and just paint without serious interruption.
3.) Blog your work. Either to a forum or discord server, being able to show your daily progress off is good motivation.
4.) Don't just test COLORS, test PAINTS. The order in which you put down colors can make a massive difference in speed and you don't want to be fighting paint transparency.

A trick ive picked up is if your going to batch paint 20+ models, just lay down base coats and washes for major details as you get into a certain mindset for it
