Another thing I’ve found, is when you get to choose the topic for an assignment, do it on something the teacher likes. When you present/ hand it up, the teacher will be more interested and give you a higher mark. Worked for me.

i do this all the time. and when i study, when i finally understand a topic, i write it down in the exact phrasing that made me understand it. sometimes it's a teacher's phrasing, word for word. it really helps

YESS running notes are usually very helpful because believe it or not teachers are always spilling facts that may not be in ur textbooks!

And I always star mark when the teacher says "This is important"

I wish this was true. My teachers love to just put assignments on exams that we've never seen before because we're supposed to remember something from a different class we've never had.

In my AP Bio class, the magic phrases are "you're not going to have to worry about that" or "I won't go too deep into ___, but..." or "but you're not gonna be tested on that".
I actually brought that up to him earlier this week because our last 4 assessments all had D and F averages and he wanted to know why, and when I did he acted shocked but every single other student in the class agreed
