My grandfather a west nova Scotia Highlander fought in Ortona Italy during World War II. He could speak perfect German. During urban combat in Ortona he crawled up next to a house that had Germans in it and yelled comrades, are there any wounded? They replied back yes. He said how many of you are still able to fight. The German rep replied back. There’s six of us. He pulled the pins two grenades and threw them through the window. Share these amongst yourselves.
