"The snow is our water, that's no problem" holy hell. That little remark is such a great synopsis of a can-do attitude in the middle of an unimaginably terrible situation... while also illustrating how desperate that situation truly was. Easy to deify these guys as hard-as-steel, born warriors, but hearing straight from the source how tired and scared they were, and perservering nonetheless, only makes what these men achieved that much more amazing.
