After the arrival of the Bastion Fleet Carrier.
We have seen air battles many times larger than this.
The size of 150+ players all airborne and split between to factions trying to take out eachothers Bastion.

This game has captured my interest more than any of the up-and-coming games this year, as of yet. All I can do whenever I think about the game is imagine how I would set up my upgrades and weapons. What class I'll play the most, the vehicle I'll play the most. There are two things I know for sure; I can't wait to play this game and I'm going to proudly represent the Vanu Sovereignty.

Old-School vet here. I'm going to agree with you completely. They were also near impossible to destroy when they first were introduced to the game.
One tactic was to fly in with a phantasm loaded with 4 lancers and a jammerer. Kill the shield capacitor and lance away.

For some people that is what brings them into the game. MMO's usually give you the feeling that you're making a difference and that all your progress counts towards something. By ending and resetting a game, that's all progress lost, the whole thing becomes pointless and you quit.
Look at any other game and there is no 'faction loyalty' because after a game ends they auto-assign to whichever team there is, or they make one team stacked with the best players.

I don't understand why everyone's arguing over the song.

"Flight of the Valkyries, " at least in this video, is used as reference to Apocalypse: Now, where it was played during a scene where the U.S. Army carried out a large helicopter air-raid. 0:59 onward is very reminiscent of that particular scene.

In turn, Apocalypse: Now used "Flight of the Valkyries" as a reference to the title, since valkyries are mythological female warrior that flew into battle on steeds, choosing who lived and died.
