Possible Bug Report: Files Accessibility and Storage Usage in Google Drive
Description:
I've encountered behavior in Google Drive that appears to be a potential bug. When transferring ownership of files from drives A, B, and C to Drive D, the files remain accessible in Drive D despite following proper procedures. Additionally, Drive D's storage usage does not update as expected.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create New Gmail and Drive:
- Created a new Gmail account.
- Set up a new Google Drive (Drive D) with 0% usage.
2. Transfer Ownership and Permissions:
- Shared and transferred ownership of files from drives A, B, and C to Drive D.
- Ensured that Drive D had full control over these files.
3. Delete Files in Drives A, B, and C:
- Deleted all files in drives A, B, and C.
4. Observations:
- Files from drives A, B, and C remain accessible in Drive D.
- Drive D still displays 0% usage, even though it owns the transferred files.
Expected Behavior:
I would expect that transferred files should not be accessible in Drive D after transferring ownership and deleting them from drives A, B, and C. Drive D's storage usage should accurately reflect the owned files.
Additional Information:
- I have verified permissions and removed access to files in Drive D from drives A, B, and C.
- I cleared the trash in drives A, B, and C.
- I allowed sufficient time for Google Drive to update storage usage.
Additional Proof:
For further verification, I have attached a video file showing a screen recording of the issue.
Desired Resolution:
I'm reporting this behavior as a possible bug. I kindly request an investigation to understand why transferred files in Drive D remain accessible and why Drive D's storage usage does not update as expected. Please provide a fix or clarification.
