Problem is that there's a good group of people that aren't wanting "free thinking" people. They'd rather have "obedient followers" they can take advantage of.

For anyone who is reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, overthinking, and doubt get out of your mind. May replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill in your life ❤️

40 years ago school was like prison too, but I had a few really awesome teachers that had empathy and encouraged me. That's why I was able to get through it. I still appreciate them. I'm almost 60. Maybe the first thing teachers should learn is the DEFINITION of empathy so they don't think it just means "no discipline." I agree that teachers can make a huge difference in the entire life of a student by helping them feel cared for and safe. It's the responsibility of parents to teach kids self worth, respect for others, and good behaviour, but there are a lot of bad parents. The nice teachers who talk to their students do change their lives for the better. The mean ones do the opposite. I thank God I had some nice ones. Otherwise the ones who tried their best to discourage me might have succeeded in ruining my life.

Yes, it used to be prison. But the difference is they used to have teachers but now they just have prison wardens.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

For me, decades ago, school was like a prison. I hated school until one teacher changed it all. she made me love learning. She was empathic and listened. She was also the most respected teacher in our school. I think every teacher, parent and educator should see that talk. Really inspiring !

Prison is not school, you can't leave and your there until time is served, if you survive the population.

I love the two biggest arguments that she made during her speech. They are very well presented without being overbearing.

Last year was the most important school year of my life. But there was a problem, I was lacking motivation and school indeed felt like a prison to me. I got a new english teacher and after couple of weeks my school felt like the safest place on earth. She is indeed a teacher who gave me a new perspective in life and most importantly, remembered me to smile more often and to not take life too serious. Thank you for everything Ms. S💕
