How do you convince someone they are a sinner if they don't already accept the notion of sin provided through biblical scriptures?

You're showing the person or people love by pulling them out of the fire or at least showing them the exit. Abuse would be leaving them there to burn. It's the same with the Gospel, as you said. We proclaim the gospel because be love people enough to pull them out of the fire and point them to the only one can save their soul.

Failing to warn is negligence, which is a form of abuse. The objection that telling people about sin and judgement is “abuse” is loaded with irony.
