the phrasing of "healthy ADHD alternative" is so unbelievably funny to me. it gives me the mental image of swapping out my ADHD for a sticker like i'm swapping out sugar for stevia.

"Healthy ADHD Alternative" sounds less like it will help with ADHD and more like a secondary way to get ADHD or a "we have ADHD at home" type of deal

Remember, Google isn't targeting you with these ads because they've gathered data that says you have ADHD, they're targeting you with these ads because they've gathered data that says you have "an interest" towards ADHD. Same reason it's okay for them to target people suffering from cancer or MS with ads for expensive bogus treatments. Not collecting your medical information, just your interest, and also seeing if your phone goes near the GPS coordinates associated with those interests such as those of hospital clinics that treat the condition you have "an interest" towards.

Is it possible to absorb stuff like meds through the skin? Yes. There are nicotine patches for a reason. But the problem with these ones is that they even say it's just vitamins in there. Even if you took them in pill form, you wouldn't focus better, you'd just have more vitamins in your blood.

what bothers me so much is this is obviously preying on desperate people who are waiting on a formal diagnosis and cannot get any medical support. people who know that ADHD meds would help them but are currently stuck on years long wait lists and are hoping for something to help them through until they can get an actual prescription

I love ads that claim to have something to do with adhd when they really do not. I got an ad that told me to use their app to “period proof my adhd” with absolutely no explanation as to what they meant by that

My mom bought the ones that are supposed to calm a dog down because when our dog Ivy was puppyish age she was fucking insane. They didn't do anything and then she proceeded to eat them and we had to take her to the vet because they caused a blockage. Overall 10/10 perchance

fun fact: theres an actual, prescription patch for ADHD called daytrana thats mostly for children. i had them when i was younger for a few months (it didnt really work for me, which is interesting because i take ritalin now and that works) and unable to swallow pills and didnt want to open the capsules lol.

I have adhd too and I constantly get advertised apps that are meant to make my productivity better
Little do they know the more my phone gets cluttered with notifications the more likely I am to get completely overwhelmed and ignore it and then if I ignore it long enough it ceases to exist in my mind

the targeted advertisements for adhd r actually nuts lol. the apps, the programs, the self help books, the patches. also it feels especially dastardly bc a pretty common adhd thing is impulsivity and bad money habits. feels like they deeefinitely know what they're doing lol

Oh hey! On you feeling sleepy, if it *actually* has a decent amount of caffeine, caffeine can make you sleepy if you have ADHD, I often get tired after drinking a monster energy lmao.

ah yes, a sticker with a little bit of adhesive is absolutely going to deliver a dose to my bloodstream faster than a tablet will. that's why everyone uses ibuprofen patches and not tablets. because your skin is a terrible barrier.

I work in elderly care, there is actual medicine like Fentanyl that's available in patches.
The skin is absorbing, but I still highly doubt these "vitamin" patches work.

But yeah, the skin absorbing medicine theorie is right, provable and used in medicine for ages.

I use estrogen patches. Patches can work. But vitamins ain't gonna cure ADHD because that ain't caused by a vitamin deficiency, nor are any of the problems these things claim to cure.

I got their company's period pain patches offered to me, and in the depths of cramps that painkillers weren't touching, bought them, the sleep patches and the menopause ones for my mother (it was free with the other ones I ordered). They've done nothing except waste my money. They seem to try to catch as many groups who are desperate or who find it hard to get medication. Very frustrating. I did think the period pain ones helped but that could have easily been a placebo/the ebbing and flowing of my cramps but I haven't noticed anything since. Ugh.

seasickness/nausea patches do exist and it's actually extremely funny that they tried marketing something like this when Scopolamine just...exists already. can personally confirm the real patches work and make you very thirsty! so the lack of thirst is also an indication that the one you got didn't do shit lmao

i obviously have no idea if it would save you from that nonsense with the chair, but Scopolamine is a real actual medicine you can use. you put it on just behind your ear and you can't touch it afterwards or it'll get on your hand and can cause problems if you rub your face.

Me, on my way to tell my doctor I don’t need medication for my severe mental illnesses I just need a lot of stickers:

They do make anti motion sickness patches that are actual medicine that works. It’s called scopolamine, you stick the little thing behind your ear and it lasts for I think 2-3 days. At least where I live, you need a prescription, but when I was going deep sea fishing, I went to my gp and was basically like “I get seasick, dramamine isn’t enough, please give me the thing” and she wrote the prescription for me. So it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility, but I doubt that what this company is selling are actually doing anything

Being motion sick has got to be one of the WORST feelings in the world, way worse than just being regular nauseous. You are stronger than me for willingly putting yourself through that
