User overview/review of LG model WM4000HBA washer and LG model DLEX4000B Dryer with LG storage pedestal model WDP6P, June 27, 2024

Like you, I thoroughly researched, compared and contrasted starting off with 6 choices. Through process of elimination I narrowed my search down to LG and Samsung in the same sale price catagory.

In total for the Washer and Dryer ($799 each on sale), storage pedestals ($299 each) warranties, new hoses, tax, delivery and installation I came in at $2570.50 all in. While the pedestals aren't necessary, to me they are a game changer. There are less expensive units and much more expensive units but for me, the decisions came down to many variables and decided this was the best bang for the buck. If they weren't on sale, I may have gone a different route on price factor alone, not because of features.

In this video I go over my initial, first impressions of the units, immediately after install. Samsung being a close contender ultimately lost out, coming in at second choice only because they didn't offer the front access to the drain and filter. The idea if pulling the unit out after every 30 or so loads was not something I wanted to continue doing. Back problems coupled with the overall weight of these machines made it necessary to eliminate that task entirely, sometimes neglected otherwise.

The turbo wash feature of this LG Washer is also an added bonus not discussed in the video, power cleaning clothes. The washer drum has jet nozzles all throughout, even on the "tumble fins". Having dogs, the hair and bedding that goes with that and along with heavily soiled clothes with dirt, grime, sweat and sunscreen, I wanted a unit I could trust to get items thoroughly clean without adding so many products to to the wash or multiple cycles.

The pre-wash cycle the LG Washer offers was also a huge selling point. I did have to give up one feature and that was the liquid soap dispenser found in other units but in all honesty, I had my concerns with a soap storage/dispensing washer possibly being a fail point or another maintenance item to address and it wasn't that high on the priority list.

This unit can be stacked, combined with a storage base or the optional LG "mini washer" unit that sits underneath.

First impressions are a 10/10. They look great, are easy to set up and take full advantage of smart home capabilities (though I may not use most of those features). Energy consumption and maintenance reminders through the app as well as end cycle notifications are definately a plus feature I'll utilize.

When I say these units are quiet, it's almost an understatement and again, while not high on my own priority list, it's a welcomed feature.

The first load of laundry came out clean and smelling fresh and were pretty soiled up. I'm looking forward to testing the Turbo Wash feature in combination with pre-wash.

You like to maintain your equipment. I think it would be great if you made videos of your regular maintenance routine, like wiping down the drum and such. Also, a video of cleaning the washing machine filter.

Lg has very reliable front loader. One of the best. I ordered a speed queen combo yesterday after much research. Paid a tremendous amount of money but a good fit for me. Top priority is quality and long lasting reliability. Only time will tell if I spent good money

I had a new lg washer/dryer 2in1 combo in march it’s now 3 months old and I still love it everything comes out so clean even in a 39min turbowash and spins very well just damp when they come out and very quiet.
My old LG was great to but annoyingly the drum went and caused other issues so just a new one my old one didn’t have jets this has 4 or 5 of them drum can fit a kingsize duvet no problem at all and it actually gets wet and comes out clean unlike my old one.
5 years full warranty to most over here in the uk only have a year 2 if you’re lucky.

I purchased this same Washer and Dryer from Lowes recently. I have owned mine for 5-6 weeks now. So far I really like them. My biggest complaint on the washing machine so far is that it doesn't use very much water. I'm loved my first Kenmore Elite front load washing machine. It too used less water than a traditional top load, but it used more that the LG for sure! I miss that extra water. I select extra rinse on almost all of my washes now to make sure all of the laundry detergent washes out. Another thing I tend to do is use the speed wash feature, heavy load for extra water, and add in an extra rinse. Total wash time when doing this is about 29 minutes as opposed to a normal wash being close to double that time. My primary complaint with the dryer is that the sensor will think a blanket is dry when it's actually a bit damp. I love the light in the dryer. Like most of you, I wish the washing machine had one. I'm a strange bird- I enjoy watching the washing machine do it's thing sometimes! ha

Hi again thank you for your quick response on the other question I had. I’m having some problems with my dryer. It’s not drying under normal cycle. I was wondering if with this dryer is there some cycles that don’t use heat to dry the clothes that you know of. Oh forgot to tell you that they brought me another dryer and I’m having the same problem again

Speed wash didn’t make my 5 t-shirts smell clean and that’s all I put in the wash. Horrible. Also I had a water leak and the washer was way too heavy to move. I finally had someone come over to help me move it and I find mold already starting on my wall behind the washer.

Can you configure a cold/cold wash cycle? There some online comments about not being able to set a memory button on the washer for this. I'm wondering if thru the app you can configure this.

Why are my clothes wrinkled after the Steam Fresh cycle? I take them out immediately. I have using knit golf shirts, 1 or 2 at a time, to try to understand what is happening. My previous washer was LG with the Steam Fresh feature. On the washer Steam fresh, the clothes came out slightly damp and not wrinkled. On this feature on the new dryer, they come out dry, a tad warm, and more wrinkled than when I put them in. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
