- Sabian cuts frequencies with FRX Cymbals -
Sabian's new FRX cymbals are definitely not low volume cymbals. For that purpose the Canadian Cymbal company developed the Quiet Tone series, which we will cover later. The specialty of the FRX cymbals is that they cut specific frequencies which results in a lower volume perception. In its essence, these cymbals hold back the natural loud effect for drummers who don't want to hold back. Mark Love, Sabian's Director of Research & Product Development, explains how this works and demos the FRX cymbals in the video below.

These sound great‼️Wish they weren’t so expensive compared to quiet tone style cymbals… ✌️🌻

I play in a small church so they would be great, it's tough to hold back when you really get into a song and can't just let go..

These are almost $2000, For a complete cymbal package. That's around $450 or more per cymbal. Why so high? Sucks...

Idk, any drummer worth their salt can play with control and dynamics regardless of the venue or situation. If you really need to, you can use brushes or hotrods, etc. I cannot fathom buying an entire set of cymbals to use only in low volume settings when my hands and selection of stick can easily achieve the same.
