Sabian FRX - Don't Hold Back

Показать описание
Sabian FRX cymbals are designed for playing environments where other cymbals are just too much. They are NOT low volume cymbals. Rather, FRX work by cutting specific frequencies, resulting in the perception of lower volume. Remove these frequencies, and suddenly your cymbals sit perfectly in the mix, no matter how hard you play.

Like many of the comments, I must agree that learning correct technique is far more important than dumbing down cymbals and gear to fit the masses..but business is business I guess.
Old school jazz players that have eons of experience and technique to spare might share my opinions.
Next time Lars Ulrich is asked to sit in with Tony Bennett, I'll give him your number.

you could just learn how to properly play your instrument. Haven't seen jazz guys in small clubs getting all up in arms over having cymbals that are just out of control, and I've seen a lot of them having a great time up on stage.

In order to reduce volume without giving up with the "fun" you can put a moongel on the cymbals. It works great!
You don't have to buy a complete new set of cymbals just because some random guy (could it be the guitar player or the sound engineer from a small pub) tells you that you're too loud.
I know how it feels to play holding back all the time, because the cymbals are really loud in a small environment and in the meantime the rack toms get lost immediately.
By putting one moongel on a 18" crash it reduces A LOT the volume and the sustain. It might sound choked, but the crowd doesn't really care. They just want to listen to the music, and you can still have some fun. I don't understand why someone should buy these cymbals...

Weren't the quiet cymbals Sabian made called Quiet Tone? Are these the same things but with a different name, or is this a different thing?

This is great and all, but you shouldn't have made them so expensive. Learning how to control your cymbals in order to get a better quality of your sound is a big part of practicing and playing. This is like a cheat code in a game. It should be cheaper. But that's just my humble opinion. I'm looking forward to trying them out someday :)

These are just a shitty version of the sound controls.
