The inspiration behind this video:

Throughout the many live-action Superman movies and TV shows that have come over the last few decades, there have been various approaches to Lex and Clark Kent's dynamic. With Superman having Hoult and Corenswet play the respective characters, as the actors are close in age in real life, the DC Universe may be taking the long run with Lex and his hatred for the Man of Steel. Given the long history they have in the comics, the Lex and Superman rivalry could be fleshed out to last for several years in the new franchise.

With Gunn's DC Universe, this could also be the first movie franchise to finally have Lex perhaps even take Superman on physically. From his famous Lexosuit to the DC arcs where he even has powers, the DC Universe can tackle Superman and Lex's war, both philosophically but also in a way that brings new stakes for their relationship in the world of live-action. If Lex even ends up being one of the main antagonists of the DC Universe, the Superman movie can perfectly seed the idea for him to get a larger role in future films and TV shows.

Not to take anything away from these new versions, in my opinion, there will never be a Superman movie like the original one directed by Richard Donner in 1978, nor will there ever be a Superman like Christopher Reeve. The original score by John Williams was also a masterpiece.

While over the years they do not manage to understand that more than the powers, the suit and everything else is the importance of protecting humanity in such simple moments as they were taking a cat down from a tree.
