Mary Queen of Scots (2018) - 'Finale' scene [1080p]

They forgot the dog, after her execution the executioner dropped her head in start after he realized there was a dog under her dress, the dog refused to leave her body for several hours after her execution, dog was guarding her body… really was a crucial moment because it showed Mary’s true nature and love for animals and bond she had with them.

I like how Saoirse stared angrily to the executor, while he said “Elizabeth, overlord of Scotland, condemning Mary Stuart to death”. Her performance brought the tragic queen to the life.

What a heavy scene. I can only imagine what she was feeling in those final moments knowing there was nothing she could do to spare her own life.

Poor Mary. Elizabeth didn’t want to end her. Didn’t want to kill her own cousin. And even gave specific instructions on the warrant. And upon hearing of the aftermath of her execution, Elizabeth was indescribably angry and in such heartbreak.

Two Queens. Two unforgettable women of history. But only one Queen can sit on the English throne.

I don't know why but I do respect mary stuart so much. History says that she was religiously tolerant and a strong leader. Whether she had a claim to England or not is a different controversy which I must not indulge myself into but I can't prevent myself from imagining the fact that how glorious her life would have been and how far less tragic if she hadn't been surrounded by some egoistic men who tore her down as well as Queen Elizabeth. Yes also Queen Elizabeth I for she was grieve stricken to have sent mary to death.

I wish Mary could had lived to see her son James become King of England, Ireland and Scotland. She would have been so proud.

Wonder what the comments would be if they showed what the actual execution was like. First he missed the neck, then she was spluttering. He then lifted her head and sliced it off and held it up but she was wearing a wig and the head fell to the ground (nobody knew about the wig) then they found her pet dog barking under her dress. Chaos 😑

This film got a lot of hate, but I really enjoyed it. The music especially was something quite new and different which really added a sense of regality to everything.

I have been getting into British history recently and it is unreal just how many people involved with the aristocracy were executed. It's like it was nearly impossible to get through life in that cutthroat environment and not slip up at least once. All I can think is being a common person or peasant was that shit, it was just worth the risk
