Canadian government halts deportation of bisexual man to Kenya

After several desperate pleas to the Canadian government, a migrant to Toronto facing possible persecution in his homeland because of his sexuality has been granted a one-year temporary resident permit. Afua Baah reports.

He is acting to get refugee approval. I have a Ghanian ex-friend who after coming to Canada on a tourist visa spent over 1 month to think of a reason to apply for refugee and someone from Toronto advised him to pretend to be a bisexual and now he is a PR and has a Ukrainian girlfriend.

44 deportations a day? Even the government acknowledges that there are over 1 million people who have overextended their visa's/permits and have been ordered to be deported by judges but have not been (that does not include people currently being processes). So, 44 a day is a ridiculously low number. Imagine if the government did its job, that would be around 1 million places to live that could be freed up during this housing crisis.

Pay thousands in immigration lawyer fees, private doctor assessment fees. $600+ for citizenship when all you need to do is claim you are bisexual. What a joke.

He grew to adulthood in his native Kenya. Now it's dangerous for him to return home because he's suddenly Bi. Then again if he hadn't advertized it. No one would know. I'm sure this will be trend setting.
