UA is really getting into the home recording market in a big way with the price on the SC-1 and SD-1 dynamic, which I think needs another look now that the modeling software is available.

Was almost ready to purchase the Sony C-80 until I stumbled on the announcement for this one. I'm a huge fan of the C800 sound, just the versatility of the SC-1 makes me lean this way. Still a few weeks until release here, which one would you suggest? Just got into the whole UAD eco-system with an apollo solo which i mainly use for the Avalon. Just noticed: You left your axis at 90 degree while switching between the mics, should probably redo that part haha

The kick drum was very surprising! I have the SD5 for the bass drum! But the sc1 was surprisingly filled with low-end

How do you think these 3 microphones compare UA sc-1, sony c80, or the at4040?

You should also mention that you've paired the mic with a GREAT audio interface. So that also factors in to the sound we are hearing. I'm thinking of getting this microphone as well, but I have the Universal Audio Volt 176 Audio Interface, and I'm expecting it to sound similar! I also think the mic emulation is a game changer for unique audio vocal chains
