Fun fact: everyone from Texas can do this voice, most of us just choose not to

My rule of thumb for modern culture issues that I find myself having surprisingly conservative hang ups about is to imagine what position Hank Hill would end up taking on the matter after about an episode of humorously struggling with his feelings about it. You really can’t go wrong with that.

"Well I think she's a very classy lady."
Bill, probably.

This sounds like something Hank would say...only at the end of the episode where he finds out the side he was originally on was nuts and decides to do the right thing.

You go, Hank.
You beautiful Texan son-of-a-gun.

Hank Hill stood up for his friend Bill having a breakdown by throwing on a dress. You dang well know he'd do this if he understood what it meant to someone to be recognized for their identity, if that's what they genuinely felt. Hank always came around if someone was truthful, even if it was not what he approved of personally. Different opinions, cultures, or beliefs, he gave them a shred of credit because he deep down couldn't argue convictions if they were real; that's why he always came around for anyone around him, Family, Friends, Neighbors or otherwise.

I don't know if this is out of character or in character even though I've seen the show 😂

Bruh I clicked on this just thinking it was a clip from the show. This is absolutely spot-on, well done.

Was waiting for this to pop up here on YouTube, I saw it on Twitter some time ago (I think like 15 minutes after you uploaded it there, if I recall correctly). 😄

Hank actually groaned when reading the words "transgender individuals".

I like this version of Hank, but he seemed a lot less tolerant than this the show. Sure, he seemed neutral on gender expressions in "The Peggy Horror Picture Show, " since he didn't have the emotional vocabulary to comprehend the existence of gender dysphoria. But in "Goodbye Normal Jeans" and "The Powder Puff Boys", he makes it clear to Bobby that he would NOT be cool if Bobby was trans (lines like "There better be a naked cheerleader under your bed" and "Uh, you know that after this is over, you can't do this anymore, right?").

Frankly, Hank in the show was constantly trying to force a narrow concept of acceptable behaviors onto Bobby. In his defense, he often recognizes the error of his ways by the end of the episode, and he does preach some really positive values as well. But still, when I watched the show growing up, I always thought about how much I'd have hated having him as a father.
