Six Flags America was one of the greatest parks in the country just 15 years ago, but today that's all gone. This is the full story of Six Flags America from its conception as a wild safari drive through in the 1970's until Six Flags began building up the park into one of the best parks in the country in the 90's. Six Flags America was an awesome park back in the early 2000's, & this is the story of how & why Six Flags stopped investing a ton in Six Flags America over the last 2 decades, as well as why the future of Six Flags America might be brighter than it seems. This park may be headed for greatness over the next few years & the new Six Flags merger definitely helps this park! This is the most difficult video I've ever produced on this channel, & I hope you all love it!

This is the most difficult video I've ever produced on this channel, & I hope you all love it! I'm working on a ton of higher quality documentary style videos & I have one video that I've worked on for close to a year that will be hopefully released in late April! Can't wait to share it with you!

I'm so glad I got to experience this park in it's prime, the late 90s and early 2000s...great memories!

this park has seen better days its fun dont get me wrong but kids go there just to fight and be reckless and then at night they go in the parking lot to destroy peoples cars its a mess tbh

Finally, someone releases a much needed documented history on this park. I love this park, but it’s sad seeing how much potential it has going to waste.

This park would would do so much better in its neighboring county Montgomery County! Being from Prince George’s county and working in Montgomery County I can see this for a fact!

Krypton Comet was the greatest ride in Six Flags history, along with Zonga at Marine World, the Chiller and Viper at Great Adventure, the Demon at Great America, and Cyborg Hyper Drive at Six Flags New England. There is literally no footage of it online (hell, if you even search up "Six Flags America Krypton Comet" on YT, then you'll be steered to a video I made awhile ago asking for footage of it.) This park and Six Flags New England defo scream early '00s Six Flags. I'm glad to have created Yuuki Takemoto, since she went to every Six Flags park in the early to mid '00s!

Also, Don Kennedy did the announcer spiel on Superman: Ride of Steel. For those of you who don't know Don Kennedy was Tansit on Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

You should have mentioned that the Wild One was originally at Paragon park in Hull Massachusetts. My grandfather's cousin was killed on that coaster when he was 17 he was ejected from the ride and was killed on impact. I have a copy of the news article from the Boston Globe. Rmc Roar would be great that thing is so rough

Honestly naming this park six flags adventure world or six flags wild world wouldve been better than six flags america, always getting confused to six flags great america

Glad they are at least thinking of improving my home town six flags park since they are adding the steam area where the Wild West area was and re-doing everything there except for the ride layouts. Hope mind eraser won’t do it’s job anymore

Six Flags America is my home park, and I can say without a doubt it has been... disappointing. It's also due to the crowd of people they've been attracting. I used to go every summer for a few years and it really has gotten more and more sad. Just this year they're announcing their Steampunk conversion of the Ol' Wilde West portion of the park, but really it's just a re-theming. I'm hoping they put work into improving "Mind Eraser" which is now going to be renamed, as that was the WORST one of the many rides. As someone who came here as a teenager, I'm looking forward to the water park again after a rather unsavory experience, but I'm hoping there are some improvements in some water rides as well.

Mr Looping thrills,

This is my home park (for better or worst). It's about a 40 minute drive for me.

Operations are slow at times; employees seem like they're just going through the motions. One train operations most of the time .... but I'm hopeful. You've got King's Dominion 2 hours south, Hersheypark 2.5 hours north.

I think After Primer bought the six flags parks they wanted to put their parks on the same tier as the Six Flags Parks they had acquired. Also they rides six flags was adding in the late 2000s this park had more primitive versions of. They already had a GCI, Primer, and Hyper. I wish they got a Gerslaur spinner or Euro Fighter though those would be good fits and Raging Cajun could have gone elsewhere.

Heavy on nothing special, haven’t been there in over 10 years and they have only added like three rides since then wonder, woman, Harley, Quinn, and Firebird, and then like every park surrounding Six Flags America is better HersheyHersheypark, Six Flags great adventure, Donery Park, Knoebels, Kings, n Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg I’d rather go out of my way to go to their parks then drive 30 minutes to SFA

I’m surprised you didn’t use the actual Two Face Roller Coaster

I'm coming to this park for a day soon and the comment sections got me nervous. I've already been to Six flags over Georgia when there was a shooting in the parking lot. My car also got damaged on our last day. I thought this park seemed charming. I'm officially worried by these comments.

Hey Loopingthrills do you think Frontier City is the next one to close permanently in Oklahoma City because I think a year or two ago six flags took over Frontier City.

How to bring it back to glory. Get rid of mind eraser and put a new coaster in. Change roar into a rmc and retheme the entire park.
