1.9 DCi /cdti
Has most people miffed and a lot of trash clueless talk on line when you need a answer.

Wiring diagram is almost entirely pointless, they have a few different looms and the colour doesn't even match or even the pin outs...
The wires do not have a constant, so you may have switched colours along the loom.

A TD has a real basic function.
Air and fuel makes bang bang.

So you have fuel and a filter then a pump and a regulator. Reading 3ohm +-.5 ohm.
The regulator works from the ECU and rail pressure sensor.

That's one system.
The next is the Injectors and glow plugs.
The injectors I'll leave out as they can fault in a number of ways. See leak off tests.

The next side is turbo, the sensors (map and boost) and I should include MAF.
The most common fake is the read out. A 44mg/h but the loop back normally shows a fault so fault, while basic mec's will say it's working.

Great video and very helpful..my Van 2004 1.9 diesel driving home perfectly then a loud bang and all lights came on…got home everything still working except speedo and indicators not working everything is fine…switched van off the restarted 5 minutes later no throttle response and all dash lights on..checked the battery because of the smell and it was smoking and leaking acid..changed battery for a new one but still no throttle response engine starts fine…any ideas thanks again.

my mechanic used to work for Lucas. and he has told me never use non OEM parts for these Renault engines, after some other garage put a cheap MAF on and made it idled at 3000rpm...

I’ve a 2005 opel vivaro, black smoke when first revs but fine after that, great power in the van although egr sensor is disconnected… changed egr but as soon as I put in the sensor van won’t rev at all and is struggling to stay running, checked took the cat off to make sure that wasn’t blocked up but runs the same, anyone any idea what it could be cheers

Hi, my vivaro has problems with the air conditioning, the compressor always stays on.
The engine runs badly.

very informative video, i have a 1.9 2006 vivaro, the pre heater fuse (70) has melted, do you know what the cause could possible by, the van runs and works fine.

I recently bought an Opel Vivaro 2005 1.9 DCi that has been turned into a camper van. However it's in limp mode with several OBD codes. The engine needs some revving while cold starting, otherwise it shuts off. When revving for about 30 seconds or so its running stable in idle. No weird noises or knocking sounds from the engine. As previously mentioned it's in limp mode and it's hard to go above 40 km/h. The transmission and clutch seems fine and is working properly.

The OBD codes that I get with my cheap OBD-reader is:

P1814
P1815
P1829
P1802
P1806
P180B

What could be the cause behind these fault codes and how should I proceed to troubleshoot and diagnose the symptoms?

Hi looking for some help, my 2002 trafic, had intermittent washers now nothing at all, checked for power at the pump and it’s dead, checked fuses and all good, any other ideas, thank you

Great video ..out if the videos which I have watched .not 1 fault has the same issue I've got .bloody brilliant . If anyone can help .Renault traffic .vans only starts bump start 2nd gear .runs with no issue..but won't start from the key .ignition. all.works .just no red flashing light immobiliser..obd reads .fault low power ecu

Hi there great video, please could you assist I have a clio 2 2005, the glow plug light comes on and goes off but when its on the car doesn't Rev up any suggestions.. Thank you.

Hi I have the same problem on start up turns over fires cuts out up to 12 times some days hot or cold weather
New glow plugs same problem but it I do glow plug light on then out count to 5 then again on then count to 5 it fires first time glow plug light stays on for about 2 seconds tho when key is turned on
Ut is kiwi on power when started wont rev up easy to stall too when warm it pulls like a train any ideas to the problem
Nothing shows up on dash or the obd reader

Hi rory, cheers for vid..i have a renault master 2013...was driving fine but to keep it brief, now no dash lights except odometer, .vehicle obvioisly wont start. Battery good, engine strong..all fuses and relays seemigly checked. Ecu not giving any reading. Its been at mechanics a while now and im just trying to find a solution....anyway.. Have you found that it is a common issue for one of fuses on battery to "appear" good but is actually broken. I.e. there is just enough of a connection to give a good reading on multimeter but the fuse is actally corrupt. I have read a couple of comments tbat this was the case and seen couple videos aswell so wondered what yr thoughts were. Any other suggestions appreciated thanks again👍

Hi Rory. My 2.0 Renault trafic stopped shortly after a normal start. It cranks fine but the glow plug light won’t come on again. All glow plugs tested ok for both resistance and 12V powered. ECT correct resistance. All fuses and relays fine. Any help appreciated 🙏

Hi,

I have got vauxall vivaro 04 plate 1.9 diesel . It keeps blowing a 30amp green fuse next to relays while driving .checked the wiring loom from relays to injectors and fuel pump, don't show any shortage . Sometime van drives fine for weeks and all of the sudden it blow the fuse while driving and won't start again, change the fuse and it starts again .sometime you have to wait for a while to restart the vehicle after the fuse replace .

You help will he highly appreciated

Great video mate. I have a vivaro LWB 2.0 2012, and I can't get communication with ecu, I can connect to bcm, test light, etc. Before I have DF015 main relay control circuit short circuit to hearth. Did you knowthis relay location?, and df25 preheating unit diagnostic connection fault alerted via the control unit. Now I only have error code DF067 injection multiplexed emission missing . Thanks

Hi Rory, I have a problem on my Vivaro 1.9 74kw. Throttle pedal no reaction when engine start. Idle speed is little bit lower then normal but after few seconds engine speed start getting higher and throttle pedal start function normally. is it possible that they are bad injectors? MAF sensor, pressure sensor both are new. EGR valve is clean. Turbo is good. Car starts perfectly in every temperature.

Hi, Do you know much about the limp mode fault when hitting 50/60mph? Absolutely fine until you hit that speed, if u turn the key off/on its then fine until you hit 50/60mph again? Thanks.. 😊

Hi rory, have a issue with my 2004 vauxhall vivaro, 1.9 diesel, no eml light on ignition. Plugged in code reader, doesn't pick anything up, says no modules or something similar.runs fine though, sure previous owner as turned eml light off some how, any advice greatly appreciated, thanks mark.

hi mate i have a question. i have a 2006 trafic with 1.9 engine. when i go full throttle the car feels like it doesn't want to go and i dont get power. also it cuts the power regularly when full throttle. i am thinking that the fuel pump is faulty. what is your opinion?

Hi Rory, I have a problem with my van not revving immediately when warmed up, it idles but takes a while to start revving. Any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated as I took it to the local dealers and they said fuel pump.
