Tom Oar is my absolute favorite character in this series "Mountain Men"! He exudes something very special and I think that many young people would like to have him as a grandpa. He has a lot of knowledge of how to live - and survive - in the wild. He treats the captured animals with respect and uses the entire animal. Just an authentic and good guy.
I envy his way of life and would love to live that way too. But here in Germany it is not possible to live like that.

Tom and I are the same age, and he is a hell of a lot more active than I am admittedly. he reminds me of my Uncle Ed. long since passed, he was an advid western fan. of the old west. coming from Ma. thats admirable. he studied all the old western hero's was soft spoken like Tom wore a stetson also most of his life. worked at a Frontier town in Nt state called Carson City. so there is my link to liking Tom two of a kind. Live long and stay safe Tom and Nancy.
