April had one of the biggest evolutions throughout the parks tv show, so we wanted to share the journey of her career 🥺

Responding to "you hate it here", with "so do you" at a job interview is a real power move.

I love the father-daughter relationship between Ron and April.

I love that April was going to fill the printer 1 sheet at a time when Jerry/etc asked her to refill it.

I had forgotten that Andy convinced Ron to bring April back to work. The friendships in this show are the best!

Andy’s career development is by far the best. I mean, he started off living in a PIT.

Seeing Gina Lynnetti appearing at parks and rec just to heckle is perfectly in character.

April having a complete anxiety attack about the government career path Leslie wanted for her is very relatable

Ron: “in the eight years I’ve been here, I’ve saved the taxpayers over 150 grand” is an underrated joke.

I love how very few people get the best of April - my favorite being when Chris Traeger's positivity overwhelms April's negativity by A LOT, and she's forced to accept a Post-It compliment!

One of the things I really appreciate about this show is that not everything works out. They built up April getting accepted into that college, but then she dropped it bc she wasn’t feeling it. And Chris the perfect man struggling with depression and anxiety. Even Ann going through romantic crises and dating like 10 guys in a row and realizing she’s just been adopting their interests and hobbies and doesn’t really know herself that well. Very realistic and relatable stuff.

April: I'm evil.
Leslie: I know...
April: And I hate everything.
Leslie: I know, I know you do...

April’s journey is one that so many young adults need to go on tbh. Most of us just kinda get stuck in whatever decision either us or our parents made for us back in high school and… that’s not right for everyone. I went into psychology for years cause that was my college major, and it wasn’t right for me. It takes guts to re-examine and acknowledge that you want and deserve a better life for yourself. Even though the “American Service Foundation” doesn’t exist, there are plenty of similar organizations out there to help identify someone’s interests and get them on the right career path for them, and I HIGHLY encourage anyone who wants better for themselves to look into said programs.

The Mother & Daughter relationship of Leslie & April is the best!!

I’ve always appreciated the realism of April ending up in a career path that had nothing to do with any of her big interests as a teen / young adult, but that nonetheless fit her skills and the type of work she liked doing. It would have been easy for the writers to put her in an office job that had something to do with animals, but they didn’t, and I like that. She can be passionate about animals without making that her job!

"Marchtember Oneteenth."

That visitor was seriously contemplating if he was in a dream or that girl was crazy.

April and Andy had the best character arcs of the series. Granted they had the furthest to travel, but it was still great. Ron and Donna will always be my favs, but God damn that was some great character writing.

I'll never get over Tom saying, "puppy" 😂

One thing for sure, Parks and Recreation is that one series that developed all of their characters greatly and equally. They only did wrong Tom.

The further into my 20s I get, the more I relate to April's journey. I'm currently 23 and working in a job I kinda fell backwards into after graduating from college last spring, honestly really similar to how April got her job as Ron's Assistant. It's a nice spot to be in, I like the people I'm working with plenty, but four months in, I already know I'm not going to be working there five years from now. This work will never make me fully happy. I just hope I can find the right people to help me when I'm ready to move on like April did.
