Glitter is more than likely Polypropylene plastic or film is what we called it. The place I worked with plastic used to regrind anything made from PP and buy virgin plastic they hauled in by train. To be honest. I think it's being bought and melted back down to make other products. Like anything made of plastic not of food grade.
