Have any other parents experienced this?

The second my daughter was born, we lost 2 forks and one bowl.

I am certain children just absorb them for extra nutrients.

I dont recall my parents ever losing silverware. But we were never allowed to take dishes out of the dining area, either ( upon pain of death)

As someone who worked in the food industry, they have trash can magnets that go around and when you dumped your trash out of grabs hold of any silverware

Yes!!!! I buy 2-3 sets in Black Friday and they’re gone in 3-4 years. Sooo annoying.

Even since my kids are older, it is still an issue My husband just said we seem to be low on forks

I've found them in the yard while mowing, and our butter knives were being used as pirate swords.

Word. Caught my boys using our spoons to dig holes in the backyard. Had to buy more spoons, cause half were bent into weird shapes, and the rest went missing (until I hit them with the lawnmower).

Ours is spoons. I don't know what they do with them!
Also socks, I don't know how many of odd socks we've got in the house.
We obviously have fairies who steal spoons and use socks to muffel the sound!

Check the AC vents. That's where my 2 year old hides mine 😂

They are throwing them in the trash, not on purpose but because they aren't paying attention. When mine moved out I had to go buy another set of forks and small spoons. Oh and one day 3 years after they had moved out when I went in the woods behind my house I found missing

Plastic isn't more convenient tho, it's also ugly and cheap... long live the silverware! 😂

This was a problem when I dormed for a year in college. I had like a 30 piece silverware set and by the end of the year over half of it was gone with like two forks left. Two of the guys were basically children and didn't know how to clean up after themselves. I'm sure they were the ones hoarding it.

My kids tended to leave them in dumb spots like under the bed, behind the dresser, outside in the yard.
