Less than 24 hours later, Schlossnagle left Texas A&M after three seasons for the head coaching job at rival Texas. On Wednesday, Schlossnagle faced media for the first time as the Texas head coach. He issued an apology to Zane.

What happened is that Schlossnagle projected onto the reporter. I DON'T LIKE reporters. But, the word was on the street that Jimmy was skipping out on the Aggies for their hated rival the Horns. The reporter gave him the chance to man up. Instead, Jimmy spewed to cover up his betrayal.
