What I think is funny is how much the Mario movie looks like Mario, but then when you see Francis, he looks like he's straight out of Secret Life of Pets. You realize how close Brooklyn is to Manhattan where Secret Life of Pets takes place, and you can't help but wonder, do they take place in the same Universe, does Despicable Me take place in the same Universe as well? And the idea that Gru and Mario could be co-existing in the same Universe is just so cool, I can't even.

I would also love to hear the backstories of these background characters, as we so often forget that there’s not only the hero, his family (alive or dead), friends, & the love interest & there are billions of people out there living their unique never been done before lives. Side note, I find it funny when a film (like Garden State) or a TV show or anything in media, or even in real life, asks someone to do something that’s never done before. In Game Changer (YouTube game show from College Humor people) the host asked everyone to do something never done before & one girl quoted that part in Garden State when magical fairy pixy dream girl Natalie Portman wiggles her finger while making a funny sound & then tells the lead guy that she does things like that so to do something that’s never done before, & the player doesn’t get the point for that round when REALLY that never had been done before! No one else in that game show on the day at the exact time has EVER done that before! It was truly a unique moment. Everything everyone did there was absolutely unique.

I thought the old man at 0:33 had a marijjana leaf on his back for a moment, which I wouldn’t put past animators though having fun at work & throwing in something for the adults watching to possibly spot. Sadly it’s just a Hawaiian-esque floral shirt… but wouldn’t it have been fun if it wasn’t? If any of those conservative Christian mums who finally let their children watch a Disney movie for once, they would have been calling Disney not just to speak to the manager but to Walt’s head in the freezer! & the crunchy mums would’ve been giggling from the sidelines as they eat the special brownies that Ashlynnia & Azkaban aren’t allowed to have. Anyway I do love when children’s films throw in things for the adults in the room, though sometimes I am indeed shocked by their brazenness & stuck wondering how that got past the producers! I remember gasping once as a children’s film had the word “shxt” in it, but nowadays you can say “damn” though by NO means NOT “god damn” because… yea… the Christian conservatives whose money buys everything & anyone to whom they offer up enough *sigh*
