This reminds me of another story about a dragon where it's super tiny and is super attached to a single coin in a marketplace. The dragon won't leave the coin and gets very upset when it's removed from it so the dragon becomes a regular sight in the marketplace.

I like the idea more that the dragon don’t only pick up change but instead anything shiny or metallic so you end up with a Hord of change utensils bottle cap ects. That would be adorable

Dragons are probably very warm too. Imagine just curling up against one as it grows and you go from it curling up in your arms to you curling up against it in the middle of winter.

Its all fun until the dragon grows too big so you have to put up a sign in the front yard saying "warning, dangerous dragon inside, do nor leave valuables unattended". But some local complained about having lost his golden watch. So now adventurers having seen the sign come to loor your place and voila. You excidentally created a dungeon.
