I was in engineering at Amazon during the layoffs. I was on the team that design the fulfillment centers. The top performers with years of design experience were kept regardless of there race. The cuts came from the bottom half of the organization based on factoring in experience and ability. So someone with around 1 year experience without any projects displaying unique performance that makes them stand out would have about a 40 precent chance of being let go. Most of the engineers with 3 or 4 years experience were kept along with the many of the brightest new hires.

But the wokeness came in when picking which of the engineers from the bottom half of the organization to let go. Almost all those that were let go from the design and engineering teams were white or Indian immigrant men. Only one woman was let go vs a few dozen men. Now statistically there should have been at least a half dozen or so women let go based on there ratio in the organization.

None of the black engineers were let go to my knowledge regardless of skill or ability. One of the three black females in the organization who did not have the skill or ability to pick up enough on the job needed to be a design engineer was not let go. She was instead moved into an easier job compiling lessons learned for standard updates. Several of the people let go were bottom performers or did not have a lot of experience. But several engineers that were let go had many more achievements than her, and had designed entire buildings that are now operational.

So from personal experience I will say that Amazon will definitely hire women and black engineers into roles and give them less responsibility if that gives the added perception of being diverse. And if your going to cut 20 people from a team with 100 around half of that will be white guys and the other half will be Indian men on work visas. The Indians who get let go may or may not be top performers, but what I noticed at Amazon was that English proficiency in spoken form was a clear indicator as to who was going to laid off.

The key is that they will hire more people than needed and make up easier roles so that they can appear at least somewhat diverse, but not so many that people doing the majority of the work revolt and complain. So one or two non qualified diversity hires out of 15 does not lead to much anger. This is especially true if there are one or two qualified minorities as well on the team. But if they went full DEI the teams would stop functioning well and top performers would leave. So basically most tech professionals has accepted that there will be a few diversity hires and no one talks about it. But if the trend continues even in woke tech companies it would cause a revolt.

"Diversity" as a concept is racist. It is a thumb on the scales of justice that favors a racial outcome over a meritorious outcome. As Murray points out, it encourages rational people to make critical decisions based on race, knowing that black and Latino students are given a preference. A mandatory academic or hiring preference in effect labels minority applicants as inferior. Black students would be better off attending a university that granted no preferences; then, his academic success would be unquestioned. Asian and Jewish students also face some bias in our society, but mere bias does not keep them from succeeding. Similarly, cultural bias does not keep black students from succeeding, either -- but that is the whole argument for "diversity" and it is in practice detrimental to minorities. In truth, there is no substitute for competence.

I work in Meta as a software engineer. You are completely on target in terms of the discrepancy between the virtue signaling, and the dedication to hiring the best engineers they can. Interviews do not include a place to specify skin color (or sex). Interviewing instructions are strongly to avoid bias based on anything other than performance during the interview.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, institutional racism, all political, not reality. Diversity is racism, institutional racism. Corporations promote institutional racism favoring women and minorities for profits. Corporations want inclusion, 100% global inclusion to be all things to all people.

Amazing content, loved it! Such fearless and free thinking content is what we need during current crisis. Charles Murray is a fearless advocate of scientific study of the IQ for over three decades now, and it's a miracle that he was able to survive inspite of vicious attacks on him. First it will be white and then the Asian population will slowly be marginalized and the rapid degradation of society will follow. When you ignore merit and instead focus on skin color, results are bound to be catastrophic. There is no question that, if America follow such suit, it will go down the drain in the next generation or two. Woke culture kills societies and ultimately it will fuel racial tensions because it obliterates merit.

Objectivism is the philosophy of Ayn Rand. It focuses on reason, reality and self-interest. Rand’s books include Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead.

Objectivism says that absolute, objective reality does exist and that man can use reason to create knowledge about reality. And people should think objectively, which requires rational, logical, reality-oriented methods that avoid bias, subjectivity, mysticism, whim or authority.

Objectivism rejects both intellectual and political authority. Men should be free to live by their own judgement. This implies laissez-faire free-market capitalism and a limited government, which protects men’s rights and stops there.

Life is complex and ideas are our most important tool for living. So we must organize our knowledge into a structure that doesn’t have any contradictions. This involves creating concepts which combine multiple prior concepts into one unit. Several more advanced concepts can then be combined into an even more advanced concept. Our knowledge has layers of abstraction.

We could only actively think about a handful of things at once. That’s one of the reasons for combining concepts. We can also work with more concepts by omitting irrelevant parts – e.g. we can think of a table without specifying some quantities like its length and weight. And we can automate using many of our ideas so they don’t require conscious thought.

Man is fallible, but omniscience isn’t the standard of knowledge. Knowledge is contextual; learning something new doesn’t invalidate your previous knowledge in your previous context. You should consider the best thing to do in the current situation, given what you know, not what an omniscient God/government/media complex would have you do. If an answer to a question is correct now (e.g. what to do in a particular situation), then it’s always correct, though we can move on to asking new and better questions.

Objectivism says morality is practical. People should live for their own selfish benefit using isolationism or relational symbiosis and pursue their values, but it’s never beneficial to initiate force. Everyone can win – but only if they look out for their own individual interests, which can be extrapolated to your "neighbors'" interests.

Objectivism lists seven virtues:

Rationality: Use reason. Not appeals to authority.
Honesty: Don’t think or act contrary to reality. No matter how hard a fake reality is pushed on you to conform/fit in.
Integrity: Be consistent, live by your values and ideas, and don’t let anything fake in your mind.
Productivity: Act to produce your values. (unless your values are Talmudic Chosenness where lying is entirely sanctioned and promoted in your doctrine... although if you want to be a Satanic scumbag, then that's your right too, just don't expect people who see through it to call it positive roses and lay down to be raped against their rational self interests)
Independence: Think and live for yourself. Use your own mind instead of other people’s opinions. IT TAKES WORK THOUGH.
Pride: Value yourself and earn that self-esteem. Ambitiously pursue moral perfection.
Justice: Judge other people according to reason.

Objectivism says the ultimate sin is refusing to think. Ideas rule the world. You live by a philosophy, whether you think about it or not. You should think about it and try to improve it.

while everything Murray says is factually true, it does not account for the origin of this disastrous interlinking of gene pools and the moral need to fix it in a generous and compassionate manner, i.e. reparations and sovereign territory like the Bahamas or something. Have to undo this unhappy, unworkable union.
