The Real Reason Trump Didn’t Put His Hand on the Bible | Ep 1126

Today, we go over everything that happened during Trump's inauguration yesterday, from Biden's weird farewell post the day before to some of the executive orders Trump signed at the end of the day. Trump made a lot of promises in his speech yesterday, and now it's up to him to deliver on them. And it looks like class and fashion are back in the White House, as Melania Trump and Usha Vance dressed to impress, turning the inauguration into a runway fashion show. But why, oh why, did John Fetterman show up in gym shorts? And of course, Carrie Underwood knocked it out of the park with her impromptu a cappella rendition of "America the Beautiful." All in all, we're excited for the shift in energy this inauguration brought, and we can't wait to see what Trump does next.

I became a Christian as a senior in high school being not raised in the church. I learned so many hymns by weekly singing from the Baptist hymnal (1979-currently). I love hymns and it was wonderful to hear and recognize them.

I watched the whole ceremony, live at home, and when Justice Roberts started administering the oath before everyone was ready, I immediately caught it that Trump didn't have his hand on the Bible as it was happening. I was hoping that Melania would gently put the president's hand on the Bible, even though it was already in progress. But that might have interrupted Trump's concentration at such a critical point in the ceremony. Shame on Justice Roberts!

I have to think Justice Roberts had an agenda by not waiting for the Trump family to get in place. Sorry, but he is not a newbie to all the fanfare. It was unsettling.

My favorite part of the inauguration was when the midshipman's Glee Club came in singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic. This hymn was sung at my grandfather's funeral and means a lot to my family. Also, my husband was a Naval Academy grad.
