Fault lies in two areas here. 1st.) The persons who check safety before the free fall ride is engaged. Tyre was a big young teen that was over the weight limit of 280lbs . He weighed 330 lbs / 50lbs over the allowed weight. Second even though that harness device was down it was not all the way down. THE SYSTEM SAID IT WAS LOCKED DOWN HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT . THIS IS A TECHNICAL ISSUE IN THE DESIGN OF THAT FREE FALL RIDE. NOW A THIRD THING . THERE SHOULD BE A ADDITIONAL SAFETY SEATBELT SYSTEM TO ASSURE THAT A PERSON STAYS PUT EVEN IF THAT PRIMARY SYSTEM FAILS. TYRE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE IF SEATBELTS WERE ON THAT RIDE. THIS IS TERRIBLE BECAUSE TYRE WAS GOING TO ENJOY THE FREE FALL RIDE AND HE HAD NO CLUE HIS DEMISE WAS SOON TO BE. MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS PARENTS AND LOVED ONES. TYRE SAMPSON RIP !

For those who are saying he shouldn’t have got on or it’s the parents and employee fault the employee said the light was green when he pushed the strap down. He felt uncomfortable once they start going up so it must have came lose. Stop blaming people it was an accident. Was he to big yes someone lost a 14 year old child. He was kid trying to have fun. Sad that ride was not fit for him lots of questions here what made him decide to ride a crazy ride like that why wasn't a family member present to advise if they think he should go on and why the instructor let him on that ride all crazy that rides tilts at the top and jerks suddenly on the way down putting fear in the riders plus not being fitted on properly his weight fear of falling sometimes you have to observe thing and make decisions based on your body not everyone can do certain thing plus the instructor has no experience or understanding the ride ins and outs this could of been prevented
