So, I'm taking what I make and cutting in half then adding the half to my regular pay to equal my time and a half?

i got a really hard question and I don't know how to answer it can you help me here is the question : Tom is an electrician and gets paid $1600 for a 40-hour week. In one week he works 18 hours overtime, of which 12 hours are at time and a half and 6 hours at double time. what are his earnings that week?

Hi JoAnn! Hi All! Would this calculation be the same as co-efficient overtime? I'm having a tough time understanding what co-efficient overtime is but from what you've went over here; sound's like it's one in the same?! Forgive my ignorance and please correct me if I'm wrong.

What if we only have partial information from Bob...we only know that he is getting pay $950 for 45hrs. How can we find out how much he is getting paid regular per hr and how much he is getting pay for over time?

If you divide the ended pay from hours worked using the first problem 950/45= 11.77. So technically you are getting time on a half you are getting and extra 1.5%
